This step builds off from the first three steps and is actually essential in all of the steps. Prayer is the way we communicate with God. If we are seeking His power in our lives, we must be a praying people. There are many verses that speak of the healing power of prayer. It is essential that we make our petitions known to God. Of course, when He brings conviction, we must be willing to make changes so He can bless our efforts, but without prayer we lose our most powerful tool to live a healthy, productive life. Here are several verses that highlight the importance of prayer to our Father, and the desire God has to heal each of us:
“Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.” Jeremiah 17:14 ESV
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16 ESV
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3 John 1:2 ESV
“Saying, “If you will diligently listen to the boice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in His eyes, and give ear to His commandments and keep all His statues, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your healer.” Exodus 15:26 ESV
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the LORD.
